I ❤️ M U A

I have only known about MUA Cosmetics since Dec 2013, which is a short time since I’m sure they have been around a while…

I first learnt of MUA from http://hmfjewels.com/ who had blogged or tweeted about the ‘Undress me’ colour palette. After looking at it I knew I had to buy it as it’s all the colours I tend to wear & suit me. So when I popped into town next I had to go into superdrug to buy it, while I was in there I noticed that they had ‘Undress me too’ colour palette also, which the colours are similar but slightly different but again they are the colours I wear so brought this too…

Whats also good about these colour palettes is that on the back they have a mini makeup master class on how to do the smokey eye effect, which I have attempted and you can see this on my Instagram page, rinisparkle23.

I also have the pro base concealer & brighting kit (pic above), I’m still not 100% sure how to use it correctly so any help or tips would be gratefully received!? 😃
I have also brought a couple of there mascaras which I haven’t used yet but will have to crack open the seal and get using..!!

My other favourites MUA products are there lipsticks, not just for the fantastic colour range but for the bargain busting price of £1.00, yes that’s right a £1.00..

I have a few shades, but my most recent lipstick shade which I purchased was Shade 11, I see this on http://thebeautyvampire.wordpress.com/
It’s a nude/natural colour and it’s just a nice subtle colour to wear, whether it be to work, day out with the girls or a night out the tiles…

My next MUA purchase will have to be either the brow kit or a blusher, but I need to have some spare time to test which one is best suited to me.

Thanks for reading & why not hop over to http://www.muastore.co.uk or nip into your local superdrug store to have a look at there range.

Quick & Easy Beauty Tips…

Here are just a few quick & easy beauty tips for you all..

EYES

Puffy eyes? Wrap a cube of ice in a washcloth and hold it over your eyes to help make them look and feel more alert.

Place chilled green tea bags on tired eyes to reduce puffiness.

BROWS & LASHES

Brows & Lashes seem to be a big feature of the face, what with HD Brows & Lash extensions, but they all come again at an expense!! Why not try some of these tips to make them more natural looking and a feature of your face.

I always use No7 clear brow gel to keep my eye brows neat & tidy

FACE

A facial massage helps stimulate cells in the skin to release collagen and restore elasticity that’s lost as we age. “Rub Away the Years”

Applying eye shadow primer to eyelids is glue for eye makeup! Apply to minimize oils and creasing during the day!

Get lips soft and smooth by using a damp, warm washcloth at night to rub off the flaky dry bits; follow with a coat of lip balm.

SKIN

Run out of shaving cream or just don’t want the added expense? Conditioner is the perfect alternative. #ThisWorks

Use Vaseline as hand, eye and foot cream. (Just be sure to put on socks if you use it as foot cream, so you don’t muck your sheets.)

Mix a drop of body oil or olive oil with moisturizer for an all-over shimmer.

BODY

Improve circulation in your legs and lower the risk of unsightly veins by elevating your feet when resting.

HAIR

TIP: Don’t wrap wet hair in a towel. It can cause breakage and frizz!

Winter can be harsh on your hair leaving it extra dry. Eugene Davis, celebrity hair stylist suggests using an Avocado Oil Hair Mask.

NAILS

Fancy having Gel nails without the expense? Try this…

Forget glass slippers.. We love block heels!

I’m sure all you ladies are with me when I say I can’t help but buy shoes, I see a pair I want/like I tend to just buy them.. Some may be the same shoe but in different colours… Well they do say ‘if the shoe fits, buy it in every colour!!’
And it comes as no exceptions with the below shoes which I am currently lusting after…

I have just spotted these little beauties tonight while flicking through this weeks Look Magazine. They are from Matalan and priced at £15.00, yes £15.00 I hear you cry… With them being at that price I’m tempted to buy all 3 colours pictured..

Evening Education: Create your own frock… Part 1

For a while now I’ve always wanted a hobby or do an evening course in something, but I’ve never knew what?

I work within education, so I thought i would see what short 5 week evening courses were available after Christmas. After looking through the list of what courses were available, one in particular stood out for me, as it would be a new challenge for me to get my teeth into. The course was ‘Create your own frock’

I’ll admit that when I attended the first lesson of ‘Create your own frock’ I was a little nervous as I have never done anything like this before in my life, so I was certainly stepping out of my comfort zone. What with not using a sewing machine since I was at senior school and not the best at sewing..!!! But I faced the challenge head on and after my 1st lesson I felt a little more confident than I did when I walked in the classroom. The first thing I had to do was select a fabric, such as a linen or cotton but not a stretchy fabric as this wouldn’t be suitable for a novice that I am with patterns, fabric selection and using a sewing machine for the Kimono Dress which i am going to be making.

1st fabric selections:

I had selected my fabric which I took an instant liking too..

20140416-230458.jpg

After choosing which fabric I was going with I then had to go to John Lewis to purchase it, only to find out that the fabric I wanted was SOLD OUT!!!! I then had to rush around the day before my 2nd class to get the fabric for my dress.

2nd choice fabric:

The next step was for me to correctly pin all the pattern pieces to the fabric and cut these out and prepare for the next step of constructing the top half of the garment..

Apologises…

20140407-120842.jpg

Firstly I would just like to apologise for the lack of blogging over the last 4 months nearly, what with my last blog was on 12th Dec 13!!!!

What with the festive period and getting a Christmas temp job the month of December was all go with not much of a rest period… And then came 2014, what with one thing or another the busy period continued either with work or just every weekend booked doing something…

But I’m back and the blogging will continue with a special blog on an evening course I have been doing over the last 10 weeks which I am excited to share with you all…

Well that’s all from me at the min
So take care and look out for my next blog…
