New Looks AW15 Collection

I’ve been scanning the New Look website the last few days and looking at what they have in the AW15 collection. Here are some of the Trends that they have:

Woodstock – Woodstock encapsulates end-of-the-summer bohemian notes, with a festival-inspired nod to ‘70s dressing. From frayed and faded denim to patchwork prints and pretty knits, this season is all about blending textures. Foundations of the trend begin with layered colour camis and jersey vests, worn under soft cotton crochet tops or sleeveless waistcoats for that relaxed and romantic silhouette. Alternatively, pair rich prints with mystic logo t-shirts for a retro grunge twist, and finish the look with tassel-trimmed heels or an over-the-knee boot, this season’s essential piece.

Graphic Esstentials – From monochrome pairings to camel colours, graphic essentials revive wardrobe staples with new shapes and fabrics that mark a new season. Think liquorice lines, rich jacquards and necklines that draw inspiration from ‘60s silhouettes; all accessorised with splashes of silver and rose gold. Minimal styling drives the trend and is built around the ease of layering. With a staple sleeveless jacket as a base, combine it with a roll neck knit and ribbed patterns for a retro look. Alternatively, include bold logos in two-tone graphics for a modern urban twist. Formal shirts can be effortlessly dressed down with animal print mini skirts, and finishing touches come in the form of an oversized bag or caged sandals.

Uniform – This season offers a salute to military style, with rich details and autumn ready tones bringing that modern touch to utility wear. A colour palette of olive, teal and lime plays throughout the trend and chunky zips, eyelets and studs showcase the military precision. Masculine hard-wearing khakis are softened through floaty waterfall jackets, while monochrome Aztec prints and pops of peppermint green keep a formal look energised. For a modern twist on a classic day look, team a white blouse with ripped skinny jeans and khaki heels and give accessories extra statement with a fusion of cobalt, teal and lime in the details. For that day-to-night look, pair a crisp shirt with a sleeveless jacket and go for a reptilian bowler bag as an alternative to the classic clutch.

Bloomsbury – Bohemian style isn’t just fixed to festival season; it actually has a lifespan that carries through into autumn. A rich palette and mixture of prints help revive the 70s aesthetic into something wearable on a daily basis, with cognac and rusty tones introducing this teaser into next season. Print wise, it’s all about spicy florals and romantic paisley, which are perfect for livening up a pair of wide leg trousers or top. Pussy bow blouses make a retro return, and look great when paired with a classic denim A-line skirt, as shown by Alexa Chung. Texture is an important part of the 70s aesthetic too, from suedette to sheer, and metallic ribbed detail in zig-zag tops. Bloomsbury is a rich concoction of colour, print and texture, and gives the bohemian style a feeling of urban maturity.

Here are some of my favorite picks and possible purchases over the next few months, as I’ll be able to work these into my New York Wardrobe aswell…

They have some really lovely stuff, I’m also looking forward to see what jumpers they get in.  All cosy and snug, with some of the bits I’ve selected I looking at are key pieces and layering them up with basic vest tops and long-sleeved tops.  I’m also loving all the deep autumn colours, these will all look good in NEW YORK!!!!

Happy Hump Day People… 🙂
