February 14th ❤️

Happy ❤️ Valentines to all my Followers.

History of Valentine’s: From Feb. 13 to 15, the Romans celebrated the feast of Lupercalia. … Emperor Claudius II executed two men — both named Valentine — on Feb. 14 of different years in the 3rd century A.D. Their martyrdom was honored by the Catholic Church with the celebration of St. Valentine’s Day.13 Feb 2011

I’m not really sure how I feel about Valentine’s Day, I mean I don’t hate it and yes it is another money making scheme for companies.

I do like to get a few silly and sweet gifts for my partner but I don’t go over board.  I would cook a nice meal at home and have a romantic night in, as restaurants do hack the prices up just for one day which I feel is a rip off and wrong?  Don’t get me wrong if the other half was to say babe, get dressed up as I’m taking you out, I wouldn’t say no as it is nice to get wined and dined but surely this can be done anytime of the year why just on February 14th??

Would you say you are more the romantic in your relationship?  Do you pull out all the stops or is it your other half? 😘😘

i love you 2 (1).PNG

What are your plans for The Day of Love??

Hope you all have a L O V I N G L Y ❤️ F A B U L O U S ❤️ D A Y and you get spoilt by your other half..

Poundland Haul

Was browsing online the other day, as I was trying to get some ideas for little presents for Valentines for The Boy.  I had seen some Valentines bits on various peoples Instagram’s who I follow, I had no idea what I wanted to get, I don’t want to spend anymore than £20.

I thought I’d have a look in Poundland and Poundworld, they had some cute little bits but not much I would get for The Boy, but there was bits that I liked and wanted to buy!!  So after work I popped into Poundland as its literally right outside the bus stop in town, I noticed a LOVE Plaque they had and I had also spotted this on bellatesoriblog Instagram page, and I thought to myself I so want that, so I grab one when I went in.  I also spotted online they had a set of 3 small heart bowls so I picked them up as well , I actually went back on Thursday after work and picked up another set so I have 6, they are really cute.

Poundland have got some nice home bits in at the moment, I also spotted a marble dining set, each item priced at a £1 each so I’m contemplating whether to get six of the mugs, bowls, large plates, small plates and also Tea, Coffee and Sugar canisters.

Poundworld also have some good bits in, these are what I spotted online. I love the mugs and these would be ideal for me and The Boy as he always says I’m the Boss but I tell him he is! I also spotted this Heart frying Pan and LOVE balloon.

Book Reviews January 2018

First Read 🤓📖

The Year of Taking Chances • Lucy Diamond

🤩🤩🤩 out of 5

I chose this book as the last two books I have read have been quite intense thrillers.  I thought I would start my 2018 reading achievement with a nice girlie, fun and happy book. A Sunday Times Best Seller.  I found this book to be heart warming and a nice easy read to start the year, its about 3 strangers (Gemma, Caitlin & Saffron) that meet on New Years Eve, Gemma is throwing a New Years Eve Party and invities both Saffron (who is renting the cottage next door, she couldn’t get in so went next door to see if Gemma could help) and Caitlan (Who is home to pack her mum’s house up due to her passing away) all 3 ladies bond over Gemma’s dodgy cocktails and fortune cookies, and vow to make this year their best one yet.  Throughout the book all 3 ladies are challenged and tested to their limits with shocking new developments, Family, Love, Work, Home – all the things which they have taken for granted

Second Read

Good Me. Bad Me Ali Land

🤩🤩🤩 out of 5

I needed to go back to a thriller read for my second book because I missed it!  I have chosen this book as I have heard some good reviews. A Sunday Times Bestseller.  I was recommended to read this book from a friend on Twitter and this book certainly didn’t disappoint! I read this within 7 days which is a record time for me, it was a good read and good storyline. I’m glad that I read this book and back read thrillers.Milly’s mother is a serial killer. Though Milly loves her mother, the only way to make her stop is to turn her in to the police. Milly is given a fresh start: a new identity, a home with an affluent foster family, and a spot at an exclusive private school. But Milly has secrets, and life at her new home becomes complicated. As her mother’s trial looms, with Milly as the star witness, Milly starts to wonder how much of her is nature, how much of her is nurture, and whether she is doomed to turn out like her mother after all.

Third Read

The Couple Next Door • Shari Lapena

🤩🤩🤩🤩 out of 5

Richard and Judy Book Club choice The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena is a page-turner with a web of dark secrets hidden within its story. The story begins when Anne and Marco decide to leave their 6 month old baby at home to go to a dinner party next door.  I first saw this when I was scrolling on Amazon and after reading the short description of the book it sound right up my street so I added it to my wish list.  I ended up buying this book for 50p from a charity shop on Saturday afternoon while I was out and about.  It took me 10 days to read this book, another I couldn’t put down.  I loved the storyline, the book was compelling and the twist in the story was good which you don’t see coming but I wasn’t sure of the ending but a good read overall.

So I read 3 books in January which I can say I am proud of myself for doing as usually I start a book and I would usually finish it 2 or 3 months later, but one of my achievements for 2018 was to read more.
So I am challenging myself for February is to read 4 books.
A bookworm in the making? 📚📚
I hope you have found my verdicts on the above books helpful?

Dreaming of Mulberry

Mulberry Website: Born in 1971, the roots of Mulberry are in Somerset, England. Mulberry’s founder, Roger Saul, established the brand at his kitchen table, with £500 backing from his mother. His sister designed our instantly-recognisable tree logo – both that, and the name “Mulberry” come from the trees he would pass each day on his way to school. All of this represented a love of nature, the importance of family and the growth of a fundamentally British brand.

For more than forty years, Mulberry has been a leading British lifestyle brand, internationally acclaimed for our quality and design. Mulberry’s handbags – the Trout satchel, the Bayswater and the Alexa – have become contemporary classics, iconic examples of British design and manufacturing expertise. Roger Saul’s successors, Design and Creative Directors Nicholas Knightly, Stuart Vevers, Emma Hill and, from 2015, Johnny Coca have each placed their own stamp on Mulberry, reinterpreting the brand to chime with the fashion moment.  Mulberry today offers a unique point of view on heritage. We continue to celebrate the contradictions of a truly British identity, looking back to our archives and rich British traditions and examining them from a new perspective. A sense of the past reinvented with the spirit of now. Heritage yet modern, classic, yet unclassic.

For as long as I can remember I have always loved Mulberry handbags and purses and with it be a quintessentially British brand, Manufacturing and it’s a heritage it makes it that bit more special.  I don’t know what it is about Mulberry but their bags a beautifully designed, good quality material and stunning colours.  I haven’t browsed their website for a while until I got an email in my inbox the other day, so I loaded up the site and had a browsing session and dreamed of owning one.

Below are a selection of what stood out to me and all bar one are in a price range which i could possibly save up for.  My first find was the Mini Seaton: The Seaton’s sleek lines and streamlined silhouette contrast with refined equestrian-inspired detailing and the signature Rider’s Lock. As you can see in the picture below the bag is a good size and ideal for day to evening you can carry it with the handle or as across the body, I also love the design of the fastening. They do this in 6 different colours, I’m liking the Oxblood and Clay, it’s priced at £895 so this bag will have to stay on the Dreaming Want List for a little while as I just don’t have £900 to hand.  The other finds was a small coin pouch in Orchid Red, its a cute size and with it being priced at £140.00, this could be my first Mulberry purchase as I could save this up within two or three months.  The next find was the Long Part Zip Wallet again in Orchid Red at a price of £255, but this comes with a little gift in the form of a coin purse, I know it’s not the same as the Part Zip Coin Pouch but I’m thinking maybe just getting the Long Zip Wallet, so this would mean four months of saving which is realistic.

My last find was the Small Amberley Satchel: Introducing the Amberley, first seen on the London Fashion Week catwalk. Inspired by British countryside pursuits, the Amberley gets its ring hardware and satchel shape from traditional equestrian styling.  The colours I like in this style are Oak Natural, Oxblood and Orchid Red, it has the same fastening as the Mini Seaton, and can be worn on the shoulder or as across the body.  It’s priced at £595.00, it’s within my price bracket but it would be six months worth of saving.  I love all of the items and I’d love to own all of them but I know that isn’t possible so just owning one Mulberry Item would be a dream.

Well I hope you are all having a good Saturday so far?  Hope you have all enjoyed reading this post..  Let me know what your favorite Mulberry Item is?
